Cedar Island Lodge

Guided Eco-tours

Welcome to Cedar Island Lodge! Here is your opportunity to experience a truly breathtaking wilderness with many modern amenities. Adventures begin with the unique experience of traveling over a watershed using a mechanical portage. Once at the lodge, the hustle and bustle of the world will just be a memory. This is not just a fishing camp, this is the union between man and nature. We introduce you to the pristine beauty of the area and show you how to live and learn with this beauty.

Experience the Beauty! Pipestone Lake was formed by an earthquake millions of years ago which created some of the most spectacular scenery in northwestern Ontario. High rock faces overlook many smaller lakes, which are accessible by an easy portage. The water is clear and is totally pure. All of our cabins are newly remodeled and are heated. We provide quality meals in our dining room and we can also help you prepare for a shore lunch you'll never forget. If you are seeking trophy muskie or a hike in the wilderness, our experienced guides can show you the way. Eat all the fish you like for shore lunches or at your cabin for dinner, but we request that you release all the other fish you catch.

Harris Hill Resort

Birding , Nature, Hiking, Photography

Come enjoy Harris Hill Resort and share our love of peace and quiet in this secluded lakeshore setting. Come stay in one of our lakeview Cabins, in our lakeside RV and Camper and Tenting Campgrounds, or just come for a day trip of birding, nature and wildlife viewing or interpreting the many different plants, trees and flowers in this very distinct area. Explore nature on the hiking trails that weave through the woods surrounding Harris Hill Resort. You can even explore some of the nearby islands for shells, driftwood, and all kinds of treasures. A day of fun in the sun is always pleasant on our private sand beaches. Nature trails are now being developed that will be available for interpretive nature trails as well as wildlife viewing, photography and birdwatching.

Wildlife photography and wildlife viewing are exhilarating experiences with all the species of animals in this area. Viewing areas are being set up to assist nature and wildlife viewing and photography so that we will not disturb the wildlife. Squirrels and chipmunks run back and forth from our feeders, beaver and otter can frequently be seen swimming around the dock or the water’s edge and deer roam freely around our cabins and in the nearby fields and meadows. An occasional moose, elk, fox or bear may sometimes be seen in the distance. Wild flowers, berries, dragon flies and butterflies are always plentiful.

Birdwatching is also renowned is this specific area because of the novelty of having many migratory routes that pass over, plus species from both the western and eastern regions. This is a bird watching paradise with 298 species of birds in this area alone and is home to the nearly extinct "Piping Plover" that nests just across our bay from our resort."
