Labyrinth Bay Outpost is located on a private island in the Narrows connecting Lake of the Woods and Shoal Lake. In the summer, it is accessible via a 23-mile boat ride through beautiful islands and into breathtaking Labyrinth Bay at the doorstep to fish the rich Shoal Lake.
The three guest cottages are all finished and fairly new with the main cottage comfortably accommodating four to eight people on either the Housekeeping or American Plans. Its spacious living and dining room has a breathtaking view of Labyrinth Bay and Shoal Lake Narrows. The well kept grounds and trails offer you scenic pleasure around the lodge and throughout the 10 acre Island. Our lodge is ideal for family vacations with lots of activities in the summer such as hiking, canoeing, swimming or just relaxing by the lake. Having exclusive guest use of the outpost is a matter of bringing six or more friends with you.
The lodge's pivotal location was selected over 60 years ago primary for the close proximity to the best fishing on the entire watershed. Within a ten minute boat ride we can be fishing on the big stretch of either lake while our adjacent water has loads of quiet bays and labyrinths with fantastic fishing for smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, northern pike, muskie, lake trout, crappie, whitefish and perch.
This area abuts to a 675,000-acre provincial park and produces some of the best hunting in Northwestern Ontario for giant whitetailed deer and bear. The timber wolf population is at an all time high and we often listen to them howling in the distance. We have ruffed grouse hunting and on years with good wild rice production great populations of Ducks & Geese come here.
In the winter and early spring; snowmobiling, wildlife adventures and ice-fishing is enjoyed.
